Ed Harris and Family

After my mission, I went back to BYU and got my degree in Microbiology. Soon after college, I married Janna Yost, who served in the Harrisburg, PA mission. We went to Shreveport, LA where I earned my Ph.D. in Cell biology at LSU. After that, I did a fellowship at OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and I am now a research professor at this medical center. During our 11 years of marriage, we have had 4 kids; Kurt (9), Taylor (6), Ann (3), and Kimberly (9 months). Currently, Janna is serving as the YW president and I am the ward clerk. We stay active in cub scouting, young women activities, and competitive bike racing. We migrate to Utah every year to visit Janna's family in Emory county, but we will miss the reunion due to scheduling conflicts.
Hope you guys have a great time at the reunion and I will be thinking of ya'll.

Missy Martin Stowell

I live in East Central Illinois with my husband and 6 children. I stay at home with the kids and Jeff teaches Psychology at the local University. He was recently released as Bishop of our Ward and I'm currently the Primary Chorister and Ward Music Committee Chairman. I enjoy spending time with my family (since Jeff has summers off, we get to spend a lot of time together!), reading, baking, and spending time on my latest hobby of vinyl lettering. Life just keeps getting better and better. I think of my time in Scotland often and wish I could be there to reminisce with all of you!

Send your Photies today!!!!

So on the blog--ask people to get me their favorite photos in jpeg format, to SEMpartypics@yahoo.com --they can be photos of big groups, little groups, or even just one or two people. And also scenery photos, too! Like I said, hopefully a bunch of people will send some, but if not, it'll just be a slide show of me & you. :)
Lisa Johnson Thomas

Now my 2 cents I always have some to spare.
Please label them so she knows what is going on. Lisa said she would put together a slide show. To share at the reunion.

Julie Dabbs

We have 5 kids who I get to play with full-time, and my husband is just finishing his last week of training to become a neuroradiologist. We've been living in Michigan for the past 6 years.

It's really hard to cram 15 years into a paragraph but, I'll have a go.
Got home- had a date the first night with a wonderful young lady called Ruth- less than 2 years later we were married.
Went to University to study history and theology- then got a teaching certificate. I have been teaching secondary school (11-18) Religious Studies and Philosophy for the last 11 years- now do tonnes more admin and managing in between teaching- but still love my time in the classroom. We have four children Eleanor (10), Abigail (8), Gideon (6) and Martha (21 months) who keep us both busy running around after them.
I have never stopped studying- I am now doing a PhD part time about the relationship between Latter-day Saint and Christian theology.
I still live in Manchester- and both Ruth and I have served in various Church positions in our ward and stake. Currently I serve in the Stake Presidency and am still loving the opportunity to serve.
I guess I could have summarised this paragraph as "I spent the last 15 years being incredibly busy".
We wish we could be there, and someday we will make it to Utah!!

How to comment.

It was just brought to my attention that quite possibly you don't know how to make your wishes known. To communicate with me you just need to:
~Click where it says comment,
~Type your message in the box,
~ Sign your name,
~Put your e- mail address. (anyone can see this. So if you don't want to put the whole thing, just put the part that goes before the @.)
~ click on anonymous.
I would really like it if you all would let me know if you got that last e- mail. I am getting kind of frustrated with the lack of communication. I haven't heard from more than 3 people. If that doesn't change I will just cancel the thing. Yes, I am being snarky and ornery! Sorry, but I feel I have the right!!!! I am excited to see everyone. If no one comes I want to know that before the day. I don't need a whole pavilion if it is just going to be my family and me. Thank you for your cooperation. (Oh, that does sound pretty ornery. Sorry. It is the bossy mom in me.

Please Vote.

Please do your civic duty and vote on a title for this blog. I have narrowed it down to 3 of my favorites. I leave it to you to decide. I didn't come up with any of these. Some of my friends did. Their fate rests in your hands.

Here are your choices:
A Stirling Reunion
Bagpipes or bust!
Great Scot! Where art thou?

Vote now, or forever hold your peace.

The voting poll has now closed.

The Plan

Lars Kjaer asked if we are having an evening event. The plan is yes. It would be an Alumni only gathering. That way we don't have to find babysitters. Our spouses won't be bored. Last, but definitely not least, those who are single can come and not feel like a 3rd wheel. We want everyone to come and feel included.
I don't know the details for this event yet. I will post just as soon as I know.

E-mail

Okay guys, I don't know which e-mail address belongs to whom. I have over 400 to choose from. If you comment, put a first, last name, and maiden name. That way I can communicate with you. If you are unable to attend please send some information on what is going on in your lives. This is a way to include you in all the fun. Send a photie, A favorite recipe, An advertisement for your business. Whatever, something is better than nothing.

If anyone has Punctuation for Dummies, I need one! Maybe one on sentence structure too. Thank goodness for spell checker.

Annette Kristoffersen

Just a short note on our family: I married Michael Jakobsen, and we started a furniture business ½ year after we got married in 1995. The kids wouldn’t come, so we got help via IVF-treatment. It worked ! We have Andreas, 6 years and Rebekka and Emma, 2 years. They’re so much fun. Our au-pair girl, Missy, just got here 2 weeks ago. She is the children’s cousin. I have been at home – and working for the business mostly from home. Now I will help Michael a little more also by being in the shop physically some hours during the week.

Michael is also busy in his calling as councillor to the stake president. I teach in Relief Society once a month – a great and not too overwhelming calling.

What's in a name?

If any of you want to suggest a name I will be deciding in the next couple days.

Things we can do.

Here's the plan. I want to know about you, and what is going on in your lives. I am opening this blog to you. Send me an e-mail with what you want others to know about you. We can have this be a really fun thing, where you can put in messages, to look for others, share your struggles and triumphs, pictures. I will post what you send.( unless it is inappropriate.) Then we all can check up on each other.
What do you all think? Is that something that would interest you? This is a very informal setting. It is a place where we won't pass judgements about each others grammar, or punctuation. Be kind and have fun.

Reunion news.

We will be having a McConkie/ Swanney reunion on August 23, 2008. We will be meeting at Roy west park at 11:00 for a picnic lunch. Bring your Family and picnic lunch. I have reserved the North Pavilion. I have no idea what this park is like. So, we might need some activities for the kids. I am looking for 4 or 5 people to come up with some idea's for big group games. You will need to be in charge of them and bring the supplies. If we are to make this work I need volunteers.
